Dashain is in the way and Samsung has now launched its new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A50s in the market. The new A50s is the upgrade over the predecessor Galaxy A50. Samsung’s A-series smartphone is a successful device. So the new Galaxy A50s has some upgraded hardware and camera. But is it best to buy it? Let us see the overview of the device.
Samsung Galaxy A50s Overview
1. Display and Design
Do you remember the old A50 had a glass-like design with a glossy finish? Well, this time also the Galaxy A50s has a glastic design with glossy shiny look. Samsung does not seem to miss out on the notch in its smartphone due to which the phone also has a water-drop style notch at the top of the display.
Samsung phone display is always impressive as they have good color tone. The phone has a 6.4 inch SUPER AMOLED display with a water-drop notch that Samsung names infinity-U display. The phone has slightly some bezels at the bottom of the screen but overall the display is impressive and smooth.
2. Performance and Storage
The older A50 had an Exynos 9610 octa-core processor. This year the A50s do not seems to have a higher chipset as expected. It has an octa-core Exynos 9611 processor. It is the point where the company seems to neglect. So you will have almost the same experience in the new A50s. However, Samsung claims that you will have some better gaming experience on the phone.
Regarding storage, the A50 was only available for 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variants in Nepal. But now the new A50s are available with two variants- 4 GB and 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. It is still expandable via Micro SD card up to 512 GB.
3. Camera and Battery
Speaking Honestly I do not see much more upgrade in the new A50s except in camera. Although it is still a triple camera it has upgraded lens- the 25 MP Primary Lens is now upgraded to 48 MP SONY IMX582 sensor Main Camera + 8 MP ultra-wide Lens + 5 MP depth sensor. Whereas the selfie camera is upgraded from 25 MP lens to 32 MP snapper.
The battery capacity in the new Galaxy A50s is the same as the predecessor. It is charged with 4000 mAh Battery with 15W Fast charging through USB Type-C port.

Should you go for the Samsung Galaxy A50s? My Opinion
In my opinion, I do not see any good and major changes in the new galaxy A50s over the old regular A50. Some main differences are seen in the camera. But still, the other main hardware is mostly the same. Regarding the price the Galaxy A50 which is Priced for Rs 29,490 and the new A50s priced Rs 42,190 it is a huge difference. The Redmi K20 is far way better than the A50s which is priced Rs 39,999 and has some good specs and features.
